99% Invisible has a wonderful podcast series. Focusing on Robert Caro’s 1,344 page, 3.5 pound, Pulitzer Prize winning masterpiece, The Power Broker: Robert Moses and the Fall of New York, the episodes cover so much more than the book. In addition to displaying how one man wielded so much power, we meet Robert Caro in a delightfully human interview. From there, it’s all about the history of the man, about building New York’s roadways, about politics and personalities. Most crucially, we see how the path of a road intersected and upset people’s lives. While I am just up to Episode 3, and not doing the suggested reading, I am having fun.
