The Fed’s decision to nudge interest rates upward was wonderfully explained in The Daily podcast from the NY Times. Yes, the broadcast preceded the Fed’s announcement. However, as a history of 1970s inflation and Fed Chair Paul Volcker’s definitive response, it was perfect background.
