My favorite podcast this week was about bugs. In an interview on Fresh Air, Dave Davies spoke with Oliver Milman. Milman’s book, The Insect Crisis: The Fall of the Tiny Empires That Run the World describes why we need bugs. Among possibly 5.5 million to 30 million kinds of insects, we have bugs that pollinate flowers, that birds eat, that perpetuate our crops. They help us with disposing waste, recycling nutrients, and controlling pests. And now, we are losing too many. I’ve ordered the book because I want to learn more.
