Whenever I need a book recommendation, I go to Georgetown English Professor Maureen Corrigan’s website. Also a regular on NPR’s Fresh Air, she names what she believes are the best new novels and non fiction. Happily, they are never the books on the bestseller lists. Instead, they can be somewhat obscure but are always excellent stories from literate writers. Having begun one of her newest suggestions —Trust by Hernan Diaz–I can only say, I look forward to returning to it each day. Of course, because it begins with topics that interest me like investing and early 20th century Wall Street (but then I gather it soon will leap elsewhere), the book so far is perfect. Maybe it will be ideal for you too.
