During one of this week’s walks, listening to journalist Ezra Klein talk with Nvidia’s Jensen Huang made the hills easy to ignore. Their discussion ranged from the dangers of uncontrollable AI to whether students need to learn multiplication tables. As a charming and very smart CEO, he defended his perspective convincingly. For controlling AI, he explained why the market could prevent companies from releasing unsafe AI. With math, he suggested we don’t need to worry about knowing the basics because AI will do it all. Instead, we can focus on learning different knowledge.
With safety and skills only two of the issues they covered, this podcast was an ideal springboard for pondering AI.
