At Japan’s Restaurant of Mistaken Orders, elderly individuals with dementia wait on tables. The eatery is one example of many in a BBC article on Japan’s aging population. The article explains how a nation adjusts to (approximately) a 30 percent cohort of people aged 65 and over. Its focus was mainly the robots that will help the elderly dress, prepare food, and remember medication. They even will provide socialization. However, I so appreciated the article because soon, it will apply to many of us. With growing elderly populations, many developed nations will have to copy Japan.
Econlife has be looking at the impact of aging for more than a decade. After the BBC article, you might enjoy this past post.
