The podcast I most enjoyed this week told me what really has happened to manufacturing in the United States. The podcast was so interesting because it focused on one firm, one city, and specific people. The company was General Motors and the city was Janesville, Wisconsin. During this episode from Soumaya Keynes’s “Economics Show,” we initially meet several men that lost their jobs when the GM plant closed in 2008. Then, we see how a city and lives changed at first and now.
