January 2024 Friday’s e-links: Solving a State’s Dilemma

Every once in a while, (and sometimes each day) I listen to a great podcast, enjoy an article, or see a good video that I want to share with you.

The podcast I most enjoyed this week was the best I’ve heard in a long time. Focusing on a proposed road, the podcast conveyed a moral and practical dilemma. As a road that would cut through the Arctic wilderness, it upsets the wildlife in the area. Also though, it permits the mineral development that brings jobs and economic growth to the state. During the podcast, Washington Post reporters describe what it was like for them to be there and experience the conflicting issues firsthand. As a listener, I felt the magnificence of the environment. It was the perfect tradeoff example.
