Curious about A.I., I did some reading and listening this week. In The New Yorker Magazine, I learned about Geoffrey Hinton, a computer scientist that has been called the “father of A.I.” In the article and a David Remnick podcast interview of the journalist, they explored the foundation and threat of A.I. Connecting our own neural nets to computer “learning algorithms,” the synergy between what I read and heard was memorable. It even alerted me to A.I.’s grasp of humor and sarcasm.
