This week, I recommend a diversion that fits into the category of temptation bundling. With temptation bundling, you combine what you want to do with what you have to do. As a result, temptation bundling reduces the benefit of what you want to do. But also, the cost of what you must do shrinks. My bundle is composed of a novel and doing the evening dishes. I am especially enjoying the Audible version of Ann Napolitano’s Hello Beautiful. By listening when I do distasteful tasks, I feel much less guilty about enjoying a good book rather than progressing with my economics work.
