A good novel gets even better when it echoes reality. Last February, in a WSJ review of a biography, I read about the discrimination a brilliant molecular biologist had to navigate at MIT. Now, I’ve been listening to Lessons in Chemistry. The real scientist was Nancy Hopkins while her fictional sister is Elizabeth Zott. I recommend reading about both for some inspiration and good stories. In addition, like me, you could be smiling and furious at the same time.
