Today, in their annual report, the Social Security Board of Trustees gave us some up-to-date facts. The news is not good. A year sooner than previously projected, in 2034, the fund’s reserves will be depleted. As a result, beneficiaries will receive 80 percent of what is due them unless the U.S. Congress reconsiders how to fund the program. Do take a firsthand look so you can decide, unfiltered, what we should do.
