Our Weekly Economic News Roundup: From Pineapples to Goldfish
November 7, 2026Every once in a while, (and sometimes each day), I listen to a great podcast, enjoy an article, or see a good video that I want to share with you. These are my e-links.

I always know that an Acquired podcast is going to be interesting. Through their “deep-dive” approach, during four hours (or so), they describe the real history of a good or service. Their long list of episodes has included Rolex, Costco and Vanguard. Now, somewhat different from their past menu, they focused on Seinfeld. About much more than one TV series, it demonstrates the power of syndication. But then, at the same time, we learn how Larry David met Jerry Seinfeld, how a script develops, and why the same phenomenon might not evolve today. Also, the hosts’ enthusiasm distinguishes them from most other podcast narratives. If you are driving to some distant destination or just listening in hour-long parcels, this podcast will grab you.
Enjoy this early Seinfeld (as did I):
