Do take a look at the Moss & Fog website. Although I’ve enjoyed their emails that ranged from fruit art to a meteor streaking toward an active volcano, last week’s was especially memorable.
While we will wind up at the “world’s longest escalator,” let’s start with San Francisco. Among its hilly streets, Bradford, with a whopping 41% grade, is the most steep:

However, Chongqing, China makes San Francisco feel flat. Described as vertical, Chongqing, China occupies the side of a mountain. And that takes us to this week’s e-link. Moss and Fog called it “the world’s longest escalator.” Climbing approximately 3,000 feet, the Wushan Goddess Escalator is really a series of 21 escalators that are connected with walkways, bridges, and elevators. As a result, pedestrians can make the steep climb through the city in 20 minutes.
They will use 21 escalators, 8 elevators, and 4 moving walkways:
