For those of us that are concerned with current tariff policy, we just need 42 minutes with Nobel economics laureate Paul Krugman. In a Trade Talks podcast, he looks at international trade during the past, present, and future. Starting with economic geography, he focuses on “where stuff is, where production takes place, and where people locate.” He called it industrial agglomeration. But he just meant how people tend to produce the same things in the same places. Then, he talks about what Europe produces and industrial policy. And, of course, it all takes us to tariffs. Indeed, these 42 minutes will help us to comment knowledgeably on current trade policy.
