The Atlas of Economic Complexity from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government is one of those websites where you start by looking up one item. I just wanted to see what Vietnam exported to the U.S. Then, though, you see a fact that interests you and you look up something else. Finally, through a graphic like I’ve copied below, I wound up checking the volume of trade that U.S. tariffs would impact. The links took me to petroleum products, and cars, and Mexico and Canada.
Again we could see how a closer look reveals the complexity of tariffs: And, we can also see a compelling series of visualizations:
